Amos Mumbere, a senior six student from Ntare School emerged winner, of the 2017 DStv Eutelsat Star Awards. His victory was announced on Thursday, in an event held at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
He won the essay writing category. The other category is the poster category, won by a Tanzanian student.
The awards are held annually, all over the continent, to inspire innovative thinking among secondary school students in Africa, to create awareness on how science and technology can be applied to everyday life, and to showcase the many ways that satellites already impact on the development of the continent.
